What should you know before you buy a Philippine number?

Philippine numbers are strong for a few big apps and weak for others. The same app can sell on two routes with very different odds, and our own older orders tell a different story from today. Four notices from the barangay board:

Which Philippine number do you actually need?

Search results for “Philippine phone number” mix four different products. Call “Pabili po!” at the sari-sari store window and point at what you came for. The tindera answers honestly whether VSIM sells it.

Meron po! We have it.

A Philippine number for one SMS code

You are signing up for an app and need a +63 number that receives the verification code now. That is exactly what VSIM sells: pick the app, get a number, read the code on your order page, and get the full price back if it never comes.

Check your app in the songbook

Which apps get their code on a Philippine number today?

Every app is a song in the videoke songbook, and its score is the share of recent orders on Philippine numbers that got the code. Fifty and up earns a “Pwede na!”, 20 to 49 is “Kaya pa!”, and under 20 the machine tells you to try another country.

Where do the figures on this page come from?

Prices and rates
VSIM’s live price list for the Philippines and every other country, refreshed every 15 minutes. A rate is the share of recent orders on a route that received a code; apps without enough recent orders show no rate. Where an app has two Philippine routes, both are shown.
Our own record
One-time orders counted from VSIM’s database, 31 May 2024 to 11 October 2026: 11 codes on Philippine numbers, out of 3,463 codes in total from 13,062 orders. Per-app figures count an app’s eight busiest countries, so they are lower bounds.

What else do people ask about Philippine virtual numbers?

What is a Philippine virtual number for SMS verification?

A real Philippine +63 number you rent on VSIM for one SMS code, with no SIM card, no contract and no ID. You type it into the app, read the code on your order page, and the number is yours for up to 20 minutes. If no code arrives in that time, the full price goes back to your balance.

How much does a Philippine virtual number cost?

Today Philippine numbers cost from $0.08 to $1.54 across 221 apps, and half of them cost $0.18 or less. For 16 of the 18 popular apps in the alkansya section, the Philippine price is at or below the middle price of all countries. You pay once; when no code arrives, the price goes back to your balance.

Can I use a Philippine number for WhatsApp?

Yes. Today 41% of recent WhatsApp orders on Philippine numbers got the code, for $0.91, which places the Philippines No. 3 of 25 countries with a measured WhatsApp rate. Our own older log was weaker, 4 codes from 60 orders, so trust the live rate over history.

Is a Philippine number good for Facebook?

Not reliably today. That places the Philippines No. 12 of 84 countries for Facebook. VSIM’s order page sends you through the better route by default.

Which apps work best with a Philippine number?

Right now Grindr (81%), Discord (77%), Grab (56%), Ticketmaster (46%), Zoho (44%). 3 of the 25 apps with a measured Philippine rate deliver at least half their codes. The songbook on this page lists every one, refreshed every 15 minutes.

Is a Philippine number good for Telegram?

Usually not. In our own log Telegram on Philippine numbers got 3 codes from 110 orders, against 13% for Telegram across every country. The best Telegram route today is Lithuania at 58% for $0.93.

Why does the same app have two prices for the Philippines?

Some apps are sold on two Philippine routes from different number pools, and they deliver very differently. The order page picks the better-delivering route by default; the two jeepneys on this page show both.

How do I type a Philippine number into an app?

Pick the Philippines, +63, then type the ten digits that start with 9, without the leading 0. A number written 0917 123 4567 at home becomes +63 917 123 4567.

Does the prefix show which network a Philippine number is on?

Not reliably any more. Prefixes such as 0917 were given to Globe and 0918 to Smart, but since mobile number portability started on 30 September 2021 a number can move to another network and keep its prefix. The load tarpaulin on this page reads any number in your browser and shows the network that first issued it.

Do I need to register a VSIM number under the SIM Registration Act?

No. Republic Act 11934, signed on 10 October 2022, requires every physical and electronic SIM sold in the Philippines to be registered by its user with a valid ID. VSIM numbers are rented for one code and are not SIM cards in your name, which is also why they cannot replace your own SIM for banking or government accounts.

Is the Philippines better than Indonesia or Thailand for SMS codes?

It depends on the app. Counting apps that deliver at least half their codes today: Indonesia 6, India 5, Thailand 5, Hong Kong 3. The banca race on this page puts eight countries side by side for each app.

What happens if the code never arrives?

The order closes when its timer runs out, at most 20 minutes, and the full price goes back to your balance. You can cancel earlier. A missed code costs you time, not money.

Can I use a Philippine virtual number for GCash, Maya or online banking?

No. Banks and e-wallets send codes to a number you hold, again and again, and they expect a SIM registered in your name. A rented number is gone after one code, so you would lock yourself out.

Can I keep a Philippine number after the code?

No. A one-code number is yours for up to 20 minutes. If you need to receive codes on the same number again, VSIM sells permanent numbers in the United States.

Salamat po!
